Weaving Wastage

There is a lot of wastage, like weaving you have to set up the loom and weave a bit of rough cloth with old wool before you start your precious yardage with the decent stuff,  and like woven cloth I have found ways of reusing it. 

Short stories are different, you can be as wordy and erudite as you like.  Everything on the paper stays on the paper, but in my case tends to be rewritten, and the edges tightened and the fabric made taught and trimmed.
